Christ along the border Where is Christ to be found?  Seeking the presence of Christ within (Teresa of Avila, Thomas Merton, Leddy considers a modern master of spiritual life) o Found in biblical studies: Matthew 6.6  Finding the presences of Christ in all things (Francis of Assisi and Ignatius of Loyola) o Found in biblical studies: Matthew 25. 40 (visiting the sick) Philip Neri combines the two because he was a confessor (listens to confession) and a counsellor.  He leaves the Christ in his prayer and finds the Christ at his door Christ and the “religious other”  “Taking Christ to”…the other (taking the Christ we have and share with others who do not know him) o Has to be implemented  “Finding Christ in”…the other (finding Christ in the other religious – affirm Leddy proposes: The discovery of Christ as our spirits are awakened by something or someone entirely other than ourselves (121). (Face of a stranger to summon us)  Related back to the meaning of a face: Do not kill me (finding Christ in the coming together of the face-to-face relation) => Christ is awaken
