SMC 103 lec 2  Before the yr 70 AD Christianity was considered a movement of Judaism  ** 70 AD was the destruction of the temple at Jerusalem  Identity was lost in Judaism after this so they go in search of there identity  The centre of Christianity moves from Jerusalem into the gentile cities ex of the cities = Antioch, Alexandria, Rome  100 AD Christians are being excluded from the synagogue and some are prohibited from worship  As Christianity is different from Jewish, roman authorities become reluctant to allow Christians the benefit of exemptions from idolatry because the Christians were a different group they weren’t completely “Jewish”; it became ILLEGAL  WORSHIP was something Christians questioned after 70 AD the temple is now less important and the Christian rituals like breaking bread were developing.  There were also questions ab
