Choose topic related to mass media (any topic): theorists, hollywood, etc. Self-fulfilling cycles; complex (thought/desires of those in power are equally created for them through media) Internalize ideologies created/represented in the media -> claim to have complete freedom. Look at how that happens -> moral autonomy. Profit for news = reliant on advertisements; type of ads tailor to certain type of class (people who can afford them) -> shapes content/publications/who can survive. Within news sources, limited scope of what is considered credible, objective. News comes from sources of power, which are part of creating the first filter. I. e. white house, pentagon, state department = central nodes of news activity. System of news reporting and credibility - sources from margins don"t have the same credibility or the academic experience/in the academic matrix to be considered credible/ established. Even schools have connections with the government. Co-opting experts and their objectivity: still a narrative.
