Document Summary
They both agree that technology in uences change in the society. As technology changed fast, the society changes fast too. Differences: mcluhan: referred to the world w advancement of the technology as the global village, appadurai: as technology gets advanced, we become more and more alienated. The more the tech becomes a part of of our lives, we become less social. Things that don"t t together: we don"t see how things connect w each other anymore: just like mcluhan said things become more spontaneous. We become more separated from each other. Lack of continuity: cant see the cause and effect. Imaginary: a group agreement that might not be true, because we all agree on sth that doesn"t mean its true, the fact that we agreed together gives it a false sense of truth. We become imaginaries, we imagine shit is true. We assume that we are in touch w the truth, by they might be completely wrong.
