Loving someone for certain qualities isn"t true love either because the qualities can fade while the person is not lost themselves. We never, then, love a person, but only qualities. The idea is just that continuing love of the idea romantic lover is justified by the beloved"s possession of a certain set of properties, whether or not the lover knows what they are.
