Racine picks and chooses the towns where louis is well received to include in his history. Traps of narrative: revealing where he was liked re(cid:448)eals (cid:449)here he (cid:449)as(cid:374)"t liked (whate(cid:448)er you (cid:272)hoose to omit is also clear, traps of narrative are unavoidable. The grand entry king enters town in splendour. Remnants of grand entry: weddings, sports events, rising for judges/priests. Loss of biography in fire causes it to be re-(cid:449)ritte(cid:374), (cid:271)ut this ti(cid:373)e fro(cid:373) ra(cid:272)i(cid:374)e"s (cid:373)e(cid:373)ory more gaps in narrative. Ruins vs. rubble cannot build a history out of rubble.
