Law deals with the reconstruction of what happens. Lawyer is the story teller who uses field specific language. Institutionalized law: pogg: peace, order and good government, seen as unchanging, fixed for the good of the citizens, law makers seen as objective and neutral. Mother risk analyzed hair samples of women to see if they were unfit to keep their children. Led to destruction of cls as an umbrella movement as minorities subdivided this group: won the right to have a victim impact statement. The social self: someone who has empathy, compassion, humanity and recognizes the other: thinks in social relations which are non linear. Lawyer is trying to prove that his story fits into justiciable speech. Incorrigible if you were a man meant you had been involved with petty crime, if you were a woman, meant that you had been sexually active.
