Math is a good indicator of future academic success. Our society has become increasingly mathemaical and technological. Health management: body mass index couning calories, diabetes. Financial security: gave couples a basic calculaion test. Found that couples who performed beter, had beter inancial security into their reirement. As long as the decision maker was good about inances, the household tended to be beter of. Other research has linked numerical skills to the housing crisis in the us: people who got into the most trouble were more likely to have performed worse on measures of computaion. Numeracy and criminality: if you have poor numeracy and literacy = more succepible to suspended, arrested, and cauioned, people who had competent numeracy and poor literacy less likely to get into trouble than the other groups. Employment: it is predicted that there will be more growth in stem ields, across all levels of educaion, there is a higher income in stem ields than non-stem ields.
