The ideological work of the heteronormaive nuclear family (ideology is a system of ideas) Reinforces the patriarchical ideal that the man should be the head, the benevolent father. The ideology of the heteronormaive family becomes a model for authority. The ideology of the heteronormaive family requires the regulaion of female sexuality. Many limitaions for women limit who they can visit, control of their sexuality, limit autonomy etc. Deines civil marriage as the lawful union of two persons to the exclusion of all others thus extending vicil marriage to couples of the same sex. On july 20th 2005 the bill was proclaimed into the law.
