Anna tsing: logging, often developed by canadian companies, plantations, another globalized technology. In places where they are mountainous: they blow up the top of the mountain to access the metals within. Fracking fields: send high powered water down into the ground, alberta, wyoming, north dakota, new york, etc. Oil sands: see the oil sands as expanding through the pipelines. Frontier and edge of space and time unregulated, unmapped, outlaw, violent: bringing of un/less-regulated capitalist logics to new spaces. Import male labour and setup man camps: essentially dorms in trailers, related to the proliferation of sex work / increase of sexual violence. Influx of male oil and gas workers in indigenous communities has led to an increase in sexual violence, murders, and kidnappings: resource extraction on indigenous territory without consent is violence, related to land-body relations. River pollution: polluted to the point where the rivers would catch fire regularly, this eventually led to clean water regulation.
