Review: each community is to develop a proposal for the national crime policy (ncp, get tough policies. Each community will devise a proposal for the pastastan national crime policy. Each community will send a delegate to the national meeting who will present their community"s proposal. Increased policies numbers: more police = less crime. Rapid response: the faster the response to incidents, the less crime. Broken windows: sighs of neighbourhood disorder erode social order & invite criminal activity (i. e. , abandoned cars, graffiti, squeegee kids) Zero tolerance: crackdowns on minor offences to lead to a reduction in more serious offences. Hot spots (targeted patrol): focused on high crime areas at times when crimes are most likely to be committed. Guns & gangs: focuses resources on fighting back against gangs to show community & police commitment to solving the problem. Punitive (harsh) laws: mandatory minimums, report offender laws (3 strikes)
