HLTH 251 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Vasocongestion, Myotonia, Labia Minora
Document Summary
Masters and johnson: four phases model: excitement, plateau, orgasm, resolution, excitement phase. Erotic arousal: vasocongestion: accumulation of blood in the erectile tissue, myotonia: muscle contradiction. Bio-sex male bodies: penile erection resulting from engorgement of corpora cavernosa and corpus spongiosum, tightening of the scrotum. If it balloons, it is an indication that arousal has occurred. Plays an important part in orgasm: feelings of pressure or fullness in the pelvis, plateau, peak vasocongestion, increase in breathing, pulse, and blood pressure, intense vasocongestion and myotonia, carpopedal spasm (feet or hands twitch) In bio-sex male bodies: cowper"s glands secretion. Ejaculation in bio-sex male bodies: preliminary state. Vas, seminal vesicles and prostate contract to force ejaculate into urethral bulb. Bulb, urethra and penis contract to force semen through the urethra. Bio-sex female bodies: series of rhythmic muscle. Contraction of the orgasmic platform and uterus: generalized contractions of the perineal and perianal muscles, sometimes accompanied by ejaculation, resolution, reversal of excitement, return to unaroused state.
