Victim surveys have showed that the following have an increased risk of victimization: (circle: males or females, poor or rich, type of crime reported most (violent or non violent, percent of canadians reporting being victimized in a year 25, young (16 30) or older, attached or single, heavy drinkers or light drinkers, those who go out a lot or those who stay home, those who assault others or more peaceful people. Uk court approach: the offender explains the offense and what s/he thinks should be done, the victims then describes the effects of the crime (emotional, physical, financial, others add comments, what is necessary to deal with that event to restore everyone in the community. (williams, 2012) (hope is that offender feels shame and apologizes which also helps him/her be reintegrated to the community) (see braithwaite: reintegrative shaming which eschews labels and focuses on the behaviour.
