Learning disability: does not involve modality deficits, disturbances. Distractibility means that one pays attention to everything, whereas no attention span means that one does not focus on anything. Learning disability is not a result of lack of motivation, but instead a difficulty of perception. Children with learning disability require direct instruction. When a child with a learning disability claims he or she does not know what he or she did wrong, he or she is often telling the truth. Visuomotor integration is a severe problem in those with a learning disability. Dysnomia: word finding problem (tip-of-the-tongue) in those with learning disability. There is a problem with storage and retrieval in learning disabled children. One of the greatest gifts you can give children in the classroom is time. Ordinarily, when people use learning disabilities they are referring to specific learning disability. Ld encompasses broad collection of disorders/conditions mbd (minimal brain damage), attention disorder, dyslexia, hyperkinesis.
