CHAPTER 10 PLANNING INSTRUCTION  The what and the how of teaching  Instruction  Classroom management          assessment  (think triangle)  A well organized course? 1. identify teaching objectives  cognitive (blooms taxonomy) affective (emotions, values, understanding some deeper issues, historical issue in societal  development. Multi ethnicities)  psychomotor (body movements etc, physical behaviours. More important in the younger grades) these things should all move from simple to complex, concrete ▯ abstract, less ▯more self  regulating  short and long term goals  aim for observable and clearly defined  objectives exercise  2.) task analysis  redefining the “what” behavioural (driving a standard car, hoops, guitar) subject matter, knowledge  info processing analysis (define, identify, apply)  3. developing a lesson plan objectives  methods (how) sequence materials required  assessment (how, when, type) how? delivering instruction with degrees of active engagement  expository: lecture/textbook with clear organization: advanced organization summaries with connection to prior knowledge. Have something to tie it too.  signals, visual aids, pacing taking notes  mastery lea
