Anatomy and Cell Biology 2221 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Vas Deferens, Curvatures Of The Stomach, Hepatoduodenal Ligament
Document Summary
Bare area of liver devoid of visceral peritoneum. Embryo: yellow = esophagus leading into developing stomach, duodenum foregut, green = midgut jejunum and ilium, brown hindgut and large intestine. Abdominal aorta gives off 3 vital branches that are not paired: coeliac trunk gives blood supply to foregut, superior mesenteric trunk blood supply of the midgut, inferior mesenteric supplies the hindgut. Blue = developing bladder goes up to the umbilicus. Objective: identify the position of the abdominal organs. Stomach on left side protected partly by the ribs. Small intestine duodenum, jejunum, ilium ileocecal junction: duodenum did not make it into the abdominal cavity proper actually behind the wall paper of peritoneum outside in the hallway . Cecum start of large intestine ileum into the cecum ileocecal junction. Deep structures: pancreas, duodenum: pancreas in lining of duodenum also out in the hallway not in abdominal cavity proper. Mcburney"s point: (star area) appendix is located at that point.
