Document Summary
Epithelium lines the outside of your body or any hollow cavity in our body. All through our digestive tract (from our mouth to our anus) is open to the outside environment. Anything that faces an outside surface or lines a tube in our body. A tissue is basically a collection of cells that have a specific purpose. It is a barrier (prevents things from getting inside our body) In our stomach we secrete a lot of stuff from our epithelium, but in our intestines we absorb a lot through the epithelium. Depending on the body it has a different function. H&e staining (blue nuclei and everything is purple and pink) Doesn"t look like normal h&e staining but it differs depending on how long we leave it on. So this is a tube and this is all the stuff inside the tube. The cells lined up and look kind of square are epithelium. Stuff below the epithelium is all ct.
