Central and peripheral are always in communication with each other periphera. Afferent= goig into the body and efferent= going out. The other boxes are talking about sympathetic and parasympathetic. They all work together to make sure you are functioning smoothly. Orthostatic hypotension; when you stand up too quickly, blood rushes to feet lowering blood pressure (head rush), that effect doesn"t last cus sympathetic nervous system kicks in to raise blood pressure in head again. Ie if you look at the eye, they both stimulate muscles but just different sets of muscles (dilator and constrictor) Purple on right shows parasympathetic and sympathetic in green. Originates from cranial nerves and sacral region of sc. Not all cranial nerves are involved, only the four mentioned. First 3 only go to the head only. From there postg neuron travels to the pupil and lens near by objects (you don"t need to run)
