Know the labels on the slide ie sagitta looks from the side. For coronal plane= deli slicing from front to back. In the top pic; on outside=grey matter= cell bodies. And white matter is where all the axons which connect the cell bodies. Classic example would be the white matter; major white matter that connects the hemis called corpus collosum at the top and bottom is the same structure connecting left and right. And the spinal chord, inferior to the brain stem. Cerebellum=structure that develops along the same embryonic structure as the pons. Cauliflour structure that sits behind the brain stem. smoothing out muscle movement. Deep within all these structures we have grey bodies in the middle= deep gray matter; have structures such as the basal ganglia; important for controlling motor movement. If you look at the cerebral hemis; we have 2 cerebral hemispheres. Always assume that you have 2 hemis no matter the angle the brain is presented.
