The most important vein has to be within the hepatic portal system. Hepaticc portal system gathers the blood from the intestines and liver processes it, and the from liver it goes back to the heart. In the pockets of the left and right? semi lunar valve are the origins of the coronary arteries. Then we have ascending aorta and 3 branches (give supply to head, and upper limb) and then it curves back and travels down right through the thorax. As it goes down, it gives off a bunch of branches (posterior intercostal; blood supply to the rib cage). Along the way it gives off branches important in supplying thoracic stuff. It gives off branches to the lung (bronchial branches). Gives off branches to the esophagous (esophageal branches). Also gives off a branch that goes to the diaphragm (phrenic branches). The diaphragm is perforated by 3 structures, the aorta, the inf.
