What makes human language special: we use sentences that has never been heard and we are capable of understanding one that we never heard, we can instantaneously understand sentence. It is not a conscious action: we heard in sound wave, the flow of sound is continuous. It has to be present in the environment. The calls if mixed would not be understood. This is a closed systems of communication: humans have an open system of communication. Arbitrary: there is nothing in the word that say that is necessary in the understanding. Conventional: it has emerge over time and is understood cultural. Our communicate with language can be communicate in numerous way , through writing , speech and audio. The writing part allowed us to past on knowledge to other generation: duality of patterning: human language is built up from two types of elements:
