He was cross referencing something that came out of baudrillard called forget. Not simply forget culture pointing to something. In his article he"s pronouncing foucault dead (he actually died a couple months later) Declaring a certain kind of work is pass (foucault) Forget culture is meant to be ironic. Should we forget culture or did we forget culture. This is a contentious piece - in response to something. Meant to make a speci c point and be attering to itself. You can"t de ne the period of anthropology you are in until after its over. Within the talk of globalization there was a shift. Thought that it would mcdonalize and homogenize the world. Y2k sense that digital world was gonna end.
