Kinship is a system that organizes who has a claim to a person. All of this fits under the concept of social reproduction. In patrilineal society, the relationship between the father and the child is emphasized more than the mother and child relationship: this is harder to do as the child comes from the mother"s body. Also hard as the mother nurses the child once it is born: siane society. The land is all owned by the clan. The permanent settlers are people that are a part of the clan. People have to marry others outside of their own clan: provides marriage links and allies.
