Document Summary

Anthropological approach vs. other social scientists approach of study. Anthropologists have a very unique and thorough way of working. They are precise in their research and spend years to obtain an accurate understanding of a specific culture or society, thus differing from the approach undertaken by many other social scientists. When reading history, economics, or politics books, i find that facts and trends of the past result in understanding and forming conclusions for the future. However, the anthropological approach does not allow anthropologists to study the past and make conclusions for a society based on that information. It takes years of living and working within a society and its members to try and understand their culture. This requires anthropologists to adapt their values, trends, and furthermore, even entire lifestyles in order to set a good impression and get the opportunity to realize why certain things are done in a specific culture the way they are.
