Ancient, historic and marine archaeology onto life of past populations. Science is a self correcting system of knowledge: real and knowable, operates on understandable rules, such laws are immutable, apply to everything, we can understand these rules through qualitative observation, hypothesis testing and data analysis. Induction: building from other cases, recognizing patterns and general rules. Deduction: arguing from general principles to make specific predictions. Occam"s razor: the simplest explanation is probably the best. Type 1 error: accepting an incorrect hypothesis (false positive) Type 2 error: rejecting the correct hypothesis (false negative)
