Pine ridge is the poorest indian community in north america. It is here that one can find the descendants of the legend crazy horse. He is an embodiment of the human spirit. He shows what one can get done when they are in tune with their spirit and the nature that is around them: there is a statue of him that is being carved into the black. When it is complete it will be the largest statue of a man in existence. It makes it seem like they are one with their horse. This stereotype could have started with the crow people. Horses are part of their way of life: they are as connected to their horses as they are to their family. The noble injun: the native american becomes not only a hero but a hollywood star, the silent enemy. What is happening to native people and how they are conquering.
