What should be found at a domestic site: everyday debris, broad range of debris, redundancy, frequency. Should be more than work areas: e. g. Debris can gather around activity areas, e. g. hearths: e. g. Evidences of a hearth in each structure. Fairly large houses: can get similar patterns without housing structures. Found that at hunting overlooks, activity focused around the hearth. Big pieces of debris that are in the way are thrown away, called the toss zone . Hearth size can be indicative of whether or not it is a house or not: housing elaborateness. Different levels of housing for different levels of society. More complex the society, the more complex the structures.
