Comparisons between the Exposition and Recapitulation
1. In a short paragraph, briefly discuss two ways that the ST-group within the recapitulation
differs with that in the exposition with respect to harmony and form. In your answer,
make sure to specify the ST-number (e.g., ST1, ST2, etc.), corresponding measure-
numbers, harmonies involved (e.g., ii6–V), and formal functions involved (e.g.,
presentation, continuation, etc.).
Analysis
2. Provide a form-functional analysis of the main theme group within the exposition only
(the first four systems of the score are provided for you on pages 3–4). This includes
providing formal labels, a first-level harmonic analysis, and identification of cadences.
3. Provide a form-functional analysis of the development section in the score excerpted on
pp. 5–9. This includes providing formal labels for the following: the various sections of
the development, formal labels within the development (bi, ci, model, sequence, etc.), a
first-level harmonic analysis, and identification of cadences.

Form Charts
4. Complete the following charts outlining the exposition and recapitulation by indicating
the main formal areas with the appropriate labels (e.g., MT1, MT2, ST1, ST2, etc.), keys
in roman numerals, and corresponding measure-numbers. You may not need all of the
spaces provided in each chart.
