Other proteins are synthesized by ribosomes attached to er (rough er): those which reside in er and are sorted to plasma membrane, golgi complex, and lysosomes. Accordingly, two major protein-sorting pathways are known: nonsecretory and secretory: focus primarily on secretory pathway.
