Apoptosis programmed, cell eliminated in controlled way (certain things in cell ex mito that needs to be disposed of properly cant leak) Cell is fragmentized then apoptosis bodies are cleaned up by other cells (phagos) everything dangerous always covered by membrane or something. Don"t want dna to be randomly floating. Want to make sure dna does not escape from nucleus thus it is condensed and fragmented specific enzymes/ cleavages that slowly break down and compartamentalize cells. Dna fragmentation (gel) in normal cell dna is huge huge chromosomes, large fragments of dna, after apoptosis dna laddering - -fragments of. Dna being cut and cleaved in certain pattern then packaged in apoptotic b odies. A lot of what we know about apoptosis comes from dis guy. At one point has 1090 going from embryo to adult then always same 131 die to give the same cells in every adult.
