The tree of life is composed of 3 domains hypothesis. All living things are descends of luca (last universal common ancestors), including viruses. Archaea is the most abundant domain among all of them: crazy little things, live in extreme environments, because they roll like that. Genome: a set of genetic instructions within a biological compartment: not: All of the dna within an organism could have dna from a virus or bacterial in the body. All the genes within an organism could have introns that are non-coding, which are not counted as genes. All of the chromosomes within a cell could have chromosomes from another organism, such as viruses or bacteria. All living things (including their genomes) descends from luca. The period is called the dna world, and before which, the rna world (self-replicating rna that gave life to cells) Implies that viruses could be older than luca, and came from the rna world.
