Reminders: mid-term on sept. 29th, all m/c questions. Review: cycle 1 and cycle 2, also outcomes and leamson article, and outcomes on owl. Population change, how they are integrated into evolution. Evolution is an ongoing process; gradual process. Cells divide in order to grow large populations. Cells are programmed to die, we want immune cells to not live long because viruses will infect them; if they die then viruses will not be able to affect them. Also, we do not want cells that already served their purpose and cells that do not function properly (zylem). Most cells in your body are not actively cycling, they are in phase g0 which is part of interphase. Dna can be found in the nucleus, the mitochondria, and the chloroplast. N represents the # of sets of chromosomes. C represents the amount (weight) of chromosomes, and also how many base pairs it has.
