Acclimation resulted compensation is the response for many species to optimize survival. In this experiment, we examined the metabolic rate of crayfish indirectly by measuring oxygen consumption. To examine compensation, oxygen consumption for crayfish acclimated in cold(5-7 ) and warm(20-22 ) temperatures were tested respectively. To examine the acute response on metabolic rate, the response of crayfish under acute temperature decrease(5-7 decrease) was tested for warm crayfish group.
