This statue was also holding something in his right hand but there is a large fish beside the statue which tells us that this is poseidon. This was found on an excavation which is rare. It is only a portion of what was once there. He is wearing a charioteer outfit and rides the chariot at the pythian games (next in importance to the olympic games, held at delphi). He would have had horses and the chariot (we can see a bit of the reigns). The jockey doesn"t actually belong with this horse. You can see the realism in the horse and how the sculpture makes the horse look like its moving. In the capitoline museum: this is life size and it is extremely realistic in its presentation.
