Tiresias: a dead prophet of apollo. Eumaeus: one of odysseus" companions, odysseus" faithful swineherd. The suitors are pressing penelope to remarry. Phaeacian society is a model of xenia. Tells them that he encountered sirens: supernatural female creatures that lure men to their deaths with their voices.
