Geology: an interdisciplinary science: geology is an interesting scientific discipline in that incorporates all other fundamental scientific fields. We view earth as a system of many interacting parts (as opposed to individual parts in isolation). It is because of this that geologists are involved in addressing the really big scientific questions and issues of our time. Subdisciplines in geology: because geology is an interdisciplinary science there are many interconnected subdisciplines (and lots of career options to choose from).
