Sub culture: not mormons, do oppose mainstream culture but only part of definition, how it relates to and interacts and comments upon mainstream culture, not thinking about it in terms of community formation, does it critique and problemize the dominant culture in some way, does it change or adapt a popular culture form to reflect otherness , does it express dissatisfaction with the limits of mainstream cultural representation, does it offer a new practice or cultural forms, goth culture/vampire culture, draws from mainstream but critiques it, goth culture represented in mainstream culture, goths in every teenage show, goths in most shows with teens, goths make fun of themselves now/own identity, youth culture, dissatisfaction with the youth, lgbt, straddles dive between sub and counter culture, offshoot of mainstream, counter because overt and explicit political agenda, must have some form of cultural expression, songs/art/theatre.
