The modernists were very interested in this. Pay attention to how you perceive things. It plays with your ideas of what a poem is. It begins immediately with a sense of desperation. Then right after you end up with a red wheel barrow. The line breaks force you to break where you normally would not. A poem about the common or the regular. Ironic that it is celebrating a wheel barrow. Faith, religion, the world losing its way. Prufrock gives you the training wheels for this work. A loss of belief in all senses of organization. Marie in the beginning of the piece. That the war was sort of pointless.
