Uses two styles of speech: magisterial and colloqial. Repetition and focus on personal pronouns/choice - if you write badly, you will think badly. Uses numbers, roman numerals, footnotes - high form of writing. Processed statements - uses techniques from teaching, textbooks. Used in order that the reader does not feel preached at.
