Poem not just mirror of external world poem is a lamp shedding light on the external world something coming from inside as well as being received from outside. Not person bringing lamp to the landscape but someone beholding it. We begin with passive impressions of external world in poem i. e. line 10 i view , line 14 i see setting up idea of mind as mirror, passive receiver of external impressions. He also uses metaphor of closet put things in closet then take things out of closet this is putting things into the closet as you look at external world.
