Interpretaion is itself a means of becoming master of something nietzsche. Lacan: paranoia is a general condiion of being human, it is not an excepional state of illness, we are all paranoid, diiculty is learning to recognize what is truly meaningful. Every piece of art is quesionable because it is able to sustain quesions. A birthmark and other physical features are meaningless: unless you chose to give them meaning. Aylmer is not a successful scienist: failure at some level, believes this birthmark may be an experiment that will be successful. Why doesn"t georgiana stop aylmer: because she loves him, product of her ime. Story about abuse: georgiana is the perfect example of abuse. Dreams reveal fantasies and desires at some level: aylmer cuing out the birthmark. Aylmer believes he owns her: birthmark is now his problem. Chooses to see birthmark as a sign of imperfecion because he has murder in his heart.
