Film form: the overall set of relationships among a film"s parts . Narrative form : a type of filmic organization in which the parts relate to each other through a series of causally related events taking place in time and space . Style : the repeated and salient [prominent, striking] uses of film techniques characteristic of a single film or a group of films (for example, a filmmaker"s work or a national movement . Expectations: conventions: what is allowable within the parameters of a specific type of genre (tacit agreement between viewer and filmmaker); commonly repeated traits or patterns in a body of films , emotion. Subject matter in different forms result in different experiences (film vs. book, film vs. film), carry different meanings, result in different emotions. Patterns cue us to form expectations which engages us. Challenge expectations, but grounded with what is familiar.
