Mutual assured destruction : doesn"t matter who stars the war, nobody ends it. Hunts for anyone that is a sympathizer. Social phenomenon: monitored by completely unconstitutional treason. Anyone who could possible be communist (cid:1) Us congress body that organized public hearings questioning people who could possibly be communists: all of these emerged from the cold war as well (cid:1) (cid:1) Denied employment to those who were suspected of being communist sympathizers. Anyone who refused to agree with huac were blacklisted: caused lots of friction, some people named names, some people invented names to get the trouble off of their backs (cid:1) Ten writers, producers and directors refused to cooperate with.
