The scientific method is used to produce what we need and want. If it wasn"t established then we wouldn"t have what we have today. Inductive: which predicts if everything is the same then we are able to predict everything that is going to happen. Deductive: charles darwin used this method. the definition is. There are 3 different types of models and 2 different flavors which are in order of increasing abstraction. Ionic: closest to the real world increasing abstraction from bottom to top, increasing realism from top to bottom. Ionic: has the real world in it but ususally has a change in scale, it takes the real world and makes it small, an example is a wave tank that makes fake waves. Analogue: more abstract, takes one property of the model to represent another property in the real world, an example is the contour lines on a map.
