Systems and formation of mid latitude cyclones and fronts. Talked about lake effect snows, lifting mechanisms, and air masses. Fronts-cold, warm, and occluded cyclogenesis, the life cycle of a mid latitude cyclone. Tracks shift south in winter along polar front. As the name suggests these cyclones occur at the mid latitudes. In south western ontario the weather is greatly influenced by these cyclones. This is due to low pressure systems moving across the world (and continent) where there are common tracks. Generally they move from the west to the east due the jetstream pushing the low pressure system across north america. The location of these low pressure systems change due to the seasons. This is due to two different air masses of hot and cold air and this jetstream is near the point of contact between the two different air masses.
