Farming primarily (agri based) with limited oil activity. Farms wheat but small quantity b/c it is not worth anything, cranola, oats, barley and flowers. Production cost of wheat is larger than profits. Canada was called the bread basket of the world in the 60s ( gave a feeling of prestige ) Nobody cares that we are in trouble . Less for bushel of wheat than people pay for a loaf of bread. Production fell further because of high moisture leading to crop disease. They poured entire life to farming and observing difficulties makes them depressed. Community has a feeling of being edge on a cliff . >> not just farmers but ppl who support, grocery store, clothing store, fuel dealership. Have been two bad years people not able to pay bills along with other people above. There is lack of understanding between them = she calls it gap . Urban is saying that they have had enough of farmers" complaining.
