Pillnitz declaration (august 27 1791: fall of the monarchy first republic, war and terror (1792 to july 1794) In 1791, the national assembly crafted a constitution and it was adopted that. He had limited veto power: soon the national assembly had more power than the king, the national assembly disbanded once all of this had been done, the first legislative assembly was elected in the fall. The members were told to find work to become productive citizens: granted religious freedom to all. Church: when people started to complain, the legislative assembly made them sign oaths to the country and the constitution. The flight of the king (june 1791: louis xvi, his family and his closest advisors decided the best thing for them to do was to leave the country and make a connection with austria. Try to regain power from the outside: they were stopped in a small village.
