Not fought between two different territories, but fought between two different ways of life: between french protestants (huguenot) and french catholics. So not a struggle between two territories, but between two worldviews. Takes on the character of a blood feud in blood feuds, what tends to motivate people are atrocities committed in past so past atrocities become justification for continued atrocity in this setting - war of insurgency.
