Europe 1715  • Name given to the government during this time called Ancien Regime  • At the time it wasn’t old style – it was a modern form of government at the time  • Has an icky condemnation about it  • This period lasted from 1660 – 1789  • Term to define Europe before the French Revolution  • There were different types of governments during this time – French Aristocrats –  systems were authoritarian monarchical etc.  • 1500 in Europe  • 1436 Guttenberg with the Printing press  • 1517 martin Luther beginning of the reformation   • 1618­1648 30 years war  • Consider the nature of a religious war – fight a war for power politics – but a  religious war is a different story – how can you negotiate on religious ideologies
