3427E                                                                                                                         5  March 2014 The Red Cross ­ International committee of the red cross (ICRC) ­ Food parcels (up to 122,000) sent to concentration camps o Have to know name and address though o None of these packages make it to any Jew in any concentration camp ­ 23 June 1944: Representative visits Theresienstadt o Ghetto for famous, elderly and WW1 Vet Jews Individual Acts of Rescue ­ Oskar Schindler ­ Enamelware factory outside Cracow ­ Saved 11000­ 1200 Jews ­ Becomes more concerned over his labour Jews ­ Moves camp to Morabia, Czech ­ Says that he needs them for the war effort ­ May 1935 liberated by the Red army ­ Le Chambon­sur­Lignon ­ Pastor Trocme and 5,000 residents shelter 5,000 refugees, 3,500 of whom are  Jews ­ OSE (Oeuvre de Secours aux Enfants: Children’s Aid Society)  ­ Fall 1943­ arrested ­ 1990, Le Chambon is recognized as a honourable town ‘Blood for Goods’ ­ Relief and Rescue committee of Budapest ­ Kasztner Train:1944 o Rudolf Kasztner o Does succeed in saving 1,684
